This roof terrace was unused by the family; it was too sunny and exposed to be a pleasant place to sit and attempts to grow plants in pots had failed. The clients wanted the terrace to be a usable space to read the paper or do some work and to form a lovely view from the house.

We recommended an electric awning fabricated in a colour to match the existing doors to give much needed shade.  We also designed a built-in bench with comfy cushions as a comfortable place to sit. We fitted a range of planters and pots to the edge of the roof terrace and filled them with the right kind of plants to tolerate the windy and dry conditions. We also fitted an irrigation system to ensure the plants would make it through the summer when the family are away. The family are delighted with the results and the terrace now gets lots of use and compliments!
